If you’re a 90s kid, you’ve literally seen it all, the launch of computers to cell phones and internet to the Mayans believing that the world will end in 2012 to the corona pandemic, that makes up for a lot of great stories to tell your kids and grand kids! Today we’re taking you back to your childhood, with things that we’ve all done at some point in our lives, and that’s what makes our childhood so special!
1. Trying to fit our CD player in our pockets!
CD player was the coolest thing we owned back in the days and with the signature over the head headphones, you were ready to take over the world by fitting the CD player in your hoodie pockets!
2. Blocking someone in the 90s!
Blocking people wasn’t as easy as it is today, but we had our ways!
3. Them engineer feels!
Remember how fixing our mouse back in the days gave us major engineer feels? Because same!
4. Deleting messages to receive more messages!
Don’t even get us started on the amount of times we had to delete our messages to receive new ones! From funny forward messages to messages from our bae and his number saved as a girl, we’ve done it all!
5. Recording your favourite song to set it as your ringtone!
Getting to record the 30 second ringtone without our siblings interrupting us was nearly impossible!
6. Our prized CD collection!
Saving money to spend it on buying CDs was an extreme sport back in the days!
7. Connecting to the internet!
If there’s one thing that unites us all is the struggle to have the internet connected via the dial up connections back in the day, we have the dial up tone memorized to this day!
8. Cheat codes
Back in the days we didn’t get modded versions of our favourite games, we had to work hard and jot down all the cheat codes to win!
9. Downloading from the internet!
Yeah, that’s no exaggeration, even downloading a song took like half an hour back in the days, that’s where we get our patience from 🤷♀️
10. The sea of error messages!
Just like we bragged about our patience, some days we’d lose our cool trying to fight the error message that would appear a few hundred times on our screen 😂
11. Being the remote!
If you’re the eldest sibling, you were a piece of technology for your parents because of this TV!
12. Fixing the cassettes and feeling like a scientist!
The amount of skill and finding the right pencil or pen it took to fix the cassette is something no other generation can relate to!
13. Recording your favourite song from the radio!
Be it a classic Beatles number or our very own Vital Signs, we all remember recording our favourite songs from the radio and then having the same song recorded over and over again on the same cassette, such was our junoon!
14. Played pinball
Even with our screen time being limited, we used to have quite a great time betting our siblings and cousins to beat our score on pinball, not to forget the awesome sound effects!
15. Flip phones
Nothing spoke sass like ending the call with a flip of a phone, you might have iPhones today but you’ll never have the satisfaction of literally flipping and ending the call!
